Port A really does not have many bars or clubs. It really depends on when you go on what there is to do. If you are planning on going Spring Break there are many college kids on the beach hanging out. There is one bar, I would not call it a club, called Sharkey%26#39;s. If you are looking for more nightlife, I would drive to South Padre. It is more for the younger crowd. Port A is more laid back.

It all depends on when you are going to Port A. March is spring break lots of college kids, and April 7-9 is TX sandfest where there is a variety of over thousands of people here during this event, young and old!! Sharkeys is the place anytime and they do have a bar and a club like atmosphere down stairs that%26#39;s really fun.(DJ,Dance floor, pool tables, dart boards etc.)

Although the recommendation to drive to South Padre sounds good, from Port A it is a 3 hour drive.

Sharkeys is the place for young people, or Shorty%26#39;s - they have a live band on the weekends. There is a new place called Bernies, but not sure how receptive they are to young people yet, they just opened. Don%26#39;t go to the Flats! It is no place for nice girls, and Neptunes is a bit icky. Lovett%26#39;s has karaoke and a fun crowd all ages, from mid 20%26#39;s (prepare to be carded at the door) to mid 80%26#39;s.

Have fun, but drink responsibly, and drive safely - Port A is a great place, but no fun if you get arrested.

Try the Back Porch Bar off Cotter Ave in Port A. nicebar on the water with live bands!

Port A is just a great all-around place. Me and 3 of my buddies(all 21+) are going there March 15 for the weekend to fish and hang out. I%26#39;ve been down there almost every year for a long time and the best time is hanging out on the beach. There are also tons of great restaurants(some with bars) and a decent night life. When are ya%26#39;ll going?

is The Gaff. Great pizza and a large selection of beers,and did I mention the beltsander racing! Yes, beltsander racing. This little known gem has a 50 ft track and all the locals gather round and race belt sanders. It is one way to meet some of the nicest people on the island. we had a blast!!!
