I made reservations with Dollar Rent a Car for a SUV. At the time of making the reservation, l called Dollar to confirm that they had a Navigation System and l was told that all the 2006 models came with the Navigation systen. Since then, l called them 2 other times before my departure from Seattle and it was confirmed at each time. Arriving at DFW, I was %26#39;bluntly%26#39; told by the customer service Rep. at the counter that we do not have any navigation systems in any of our cars. I asked to talk to the Manager and he said the same thing. I asked him why i was misled. No answer.
A few minutes later, they found a portable navigation system in their counter cabinet and offered to lease it to me for $ 9.95 per day, just to find out that the system is not working. I was completely stranded because l checked with every other Rental Agency at DFW and they did not have any rental cars available. Finally, l had to Rent this SUV from Dollar without the navigation system in a state of a dilemma.
I was hardly able to make use of the car while l was in Dallas for 6 days. I was a total stranger.
*** Do not Trust the Dollar Rent a CAR as their word and ethics are of no value. They misrepresented 3 times. *** Take your business elsewhere.
Dollar rent A Car at DFWHave you only rented cars since the advent of GPS? I understand that Dollar misrepresented what was available (fairly typical of car rental agencies, especially during the holidays). However, I don%26#39;t understand why you were ';hardly able to make use of the car'; while in Dallas.
Dollar rent A Car at DFWSome cell phones now have GPS navigation. I have talked to a few people who have them and they say the GPS information available on their phones is very good. Maybe that is something you want to consider if you really need/like GPS systems. Is GPS the same as Navigation system?
Bookstores, such as Barnes and Noble and Borders, have great selections of maps.
I have google maps on my PDA and it is awesome!
