Which to stay in: Downtown or Reliant Park-Med Center

Solo travel for a couple of days between christmas and new years. Can%26#39;t decide between Downtown or Reliant Park areas. Price is not a concern. Don%26#39;t want to be stranded in some no-mans-land type area. Can anyone help?

The Texas Bowl will be going on during your stay and that is at Reliant Stadium. You will have lots of sports fans at Reliant or Downtown. I would suggest downtown over Reliant. Metrorail can get you between the two.

Just read your other post also. Seeing as you are a single traveler, you may actually prefer the Galleria area. Lots of shopping and dining within walking distance. Hotels are: JW Marriott, 2 Westins connected to the Galleria, Sheraton, Hilton Post Oak, Hampton Inn Galleria, Comfort Suites (I think) to get you started.

I would pick Downtown over reliant park area due to the choices of restuaurants, clubs, etc. Also, if there is any game going on, less traffic (to a certain degree) and noise.

Good Luck

I would agree that Downtown would be superior to the reliant park area. However, as another poster said the Galleria area might be even better as it has walking distance proximity to many more shops and restaurants. The only downside is that the light rail is not an option if you%26#39;re in the Galleria.

Definitely not the Reliant area. If you are a single traveler and depending upon what you like to do - I would suggest downtown - if price is not a concern, try Hotel Icon, 2nd choice the Magnolia. Both are located close to rail line for going back %26amp; forth to Reliant %26amp; Museums, etc. Also in the heart of the restaurant and nightclub area of downtown. Downtown has no shopping - only restaurants and nightlife.

But if you like shopping, etc. then the Galleria area would be great. Guess it depends really on what you enjoy doing when you aren%26#39;t at Reliant.
