Layover in Dallas

We have a 1 night layover in Dallas in January, there will be 6 of us,we are staying near the airport. Any ideas on what to do in 1 night?

Wow. Yikes, not much!

There is a new Gaylord Hotel and Entertainment complex out near the airport that might be interesting:

The JFK Assassination Museum has always been an interesting tourist draw, but I think I heard it is closing for a short while until they find a new location. Here is a link: http://www.jfk.org/ Most people don%26#39;t come to Dallas without going there.

Just keep in mind that even in Dallas, the weather in January can be NASTY. We usually get our big main ice storm (it%26#39;s not usually snow-- it%26#39;s sleet and uckiness) sometime in January. And people here cannot drive in this stuff, so transportation might be an issue. OR getting iced in at DFW. But then then next day you%26#39;ll have bright sunshine and it will get up to 70. He he.

Good luck-- hope you can find some fun!

Just to clarify- there%26#39;s a difference between the Sixth Floor Museum and the JFK Conspiracy Museum. The Conspiracy Museum is the one that is being displaced by Quiznos. The two museums are not connected.

Since you only have one night, you might take a cab over to Reunion Tower and have a drink in the bar to see Dallas at night (the bar and restaurant revolve). Or go over to the Uptown area to one one of the places mentioned in the previous thread linked below.

I doubt you are there on a Friday but just in case, the Late Nights at Dallas Museum of Art start up again January 19

Or come over to Fort Worth (airport is between the two cities) and visit the Sundance Square downtown or the Stockyards.
