bellaire inn, anyone?

Hi,

my wife is going on January to a conference in Bellaire and searching for hotel we found a cheap place called Bellaire Inn not very far. Does anyone know anything about this place?

She is really looking for the most humble place. We just want to make sure this is a safe area and that the place is not a complete disaster.

In addition, if you know about public transportaion through bellaire boulv., I%26#39;d appreciate any information.

Thank you so much,

Gidi

Can%26#39;t say anything for the hotel specifically, but the area is good enough. It%26#39;s right in Downtown Bellaire, which has quite a few little shops and restaurants. The nasty stuff starts in Gulfton just west of Chimney Rock.

I work in Bellaire. Our company put up a guest at that hotel once because it was cheap and close to the office - and he asked that we never put him in that hotel again. The clientele makes the hotel rather seedy.

The area is fine, but the hotel is not.

Lately we%26#39;ve been putting visitors in the Holiday Inn Express at Hillcroft and 59 or the Hilton Southwest on the other side of the freeway. That area isn%26#39;t the greatest (and you will want a rental car) but both hotels are pretty good and you can usually get some good rates.

We%26#39;ve also put people up at the Candlewood Suites at 610 and 59, although our marketing manager says that hotel could use a good cleaning.

For a woman alone I would not recommend anything along 59 %26amp; Hillcroft. If you can find something closer to the Galleria - it would be better. Look for some of the chains and try and find some in that area. I think there is a residence inn on the edge of West U and that is close enough to Bellair and would put her in a much better area. She%26#39;ll need transportation though - like a rent car. Our public transportation isn%26#39;t the best and they don%26#39;t make it easy.
