Hello everyone. Just a quick question, what is the weather like around Christmas on SPI? Water temps? Thanks!

I am sure there is some site that will give you the average water temps for this time of year, but unless you are a seal, I think it will be too cold to do any swimming. And it will be cool, even maybe cold at night. I just got back from there Sunday and it was unseasonably cool over the weekend (and rainy), but that will probably right itself (the water was still warm, but this is October). You will need a light coat (not a parka) if you are there in December...the evening sea breeze can be chilly

Thanks linlo, I appreciate your reply. Even the weather up here has been below normal..even for October. Lots of rain as well. Anywhere warmer than Indiana in December would be good for us!

This is very true for us. A couple of years ago it snowed for the first time in over 20 years on Christmas. Last year it was 80 degrees. I can promise you it will be warmer than Indiana though!

You%26#39;d have to be crazy to swim in the Ocean in December. Some hotels have heated pools though.

We have spent the past 4 Decembers in South Padre Island, either staying right up to Christmas or through Christmas. While weather temperatures are warmer than in Oklahoma, we typically experienced sweat suit weather up til right before Christmas and then a stretch of upper 70s to 80s. Some kids frolic in the ocean, but the water temp is pretty crisp. But with wetsuits, or just walking along, it%26#39;s usually great!
