Los Cucos Mexican Restaurant, Seguin, TX

July, 2006 - I have a bias toward California Mexican food, so I wasn’t expecting anything great. The menu is extensive – everything seems to be homemade, even the tortillas. The tortilla chips and salsas were great, especially the one made with avocado. The stuffed avocado sounded awful but we had to try it and it was fantastic – you must try it - you can get it stuffed with chicken, steak or shrimp. I had it with shrimp – it was fantastic. It came with a fish taco and a cup of tortilla soup. All were great. The tamales were also excellent. Our waitress was obviously busy but was very pleasant and attentive. We left with a newfound appreciation for Tex-Mex and thrilled with our lunch. The portions were large, the prices low %26amp; the food really good. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Los Cucos Mexican Restaurant, Seguin, TX

In April 2006 we were traveling cross country from San Diego, CA to Key West, FL and happened upon this restaurant. Like the previous post had stated we too were not expecting much. As far as I am concerned this is by far the BEST Mexican restaurant I have eaten at.....ever (I am pretty picky and have high standards). Everything is fresh and handmade/homemade. I have had LOTS of Mexican food being from Southern California. It was so good that when I drove back across country the second time I made sure to stop and have lunch. I had the stuffed avocado because I had never seen such an item on any menu ever. It was fantastic. The food is tops, the servings are large, and there is true value for what you pay (prices are very reasonable). It is a shame this restaurant is only in TX. Because the quality of the food was so high I was convinced it was a Mom %26amp; Pop business. To my astonishment I learned it is a chain. Whatever they are doing, they are doing it right! If you get the opportunity to eat at this restaurant don%26#39;t miss out!!!
