I will be flying in to Austin in February and will have a car. I have 2 teenage boys and would appreciate it if anyone can recommend some things to do for about a 6 day trip. I have to fly into Austin, but as stated, I will have a car so I can drive anywhere within a reasonable distance. Remember, I have 2 teenage boys so am looking for fun things to do for them (meaning they don鈥檛 want any museums!). Thank you.

I don%26#39;t have the sports schedules, but UT basketball games are fun. Click on the athletics link at www.utexas.edu to find the schedule. If you like hockey, check out the Austin Ice Bats (www.icebats.com).
You can also take a trip down to San Antonio if the Spurs are around (I%26#39;m not a pro basketball fan, so I might be complete off season with this recommendation). San Antone is 1 to 1.5 hours from Austin.
If the weather is good, rent a canoe on Town Lake or a boat on Lake Travis. Drive to some state parks for hiking (www.txpwd.state.tx.us) or rock climbing.
Try the batting cages and video games at Austin Park and Pizza on IH 35 north in Round Rock.
Listen to some live music at restaurants around town. Scoot a boot at the Broken Spoke.
Have fun!

Go to the Austin Visitor%26#39;s Center web site ---www.austintexas.org and order the free packet. You%26#39;ll need both the maps provided and the visitor%26#39;s guide to make planning your days more productive. Austin is easy to navigate once you figure out the grid pattern. And planning your trip is part of the fun!
Howdy! Chances are good that there will be a UT basketball game in Austin during your trip. Check their schedule to make sure.

I don%26#39;t know how easy or hard it is to get tickets anymore.
If you can%26#39;t get tickets to the Longhorns, maybe the Spurs, especially since you have a car, but they have an eight-game road trip starting the last week of January. Their first home game in February is against Denver on the 20th.
Okay, ya, ya, I know you said no museums, but if you have a ride, you may want to consider the Admiral Nimitz Museum in Frederickburg (about 100 miles west of Austin). Maybe a museum about the Navy and WWII would appeal to them? I remember the first time I went to it thinking it would be a hokey little museum in the middle of nowhere -- WRONG! It%26#39;s a 34,000 square-foot national museum, and that%26#39;s just indoors. The outside includes remnants of American and Japanese guns, tanks, ships, planes -- even a two man Japanese sub that was capture and then taken around the US to inspire people to purchase war bonds! Most teenage boys I know like to check out bombers, at any rate.
Hope this helps a little bit! Good luck!
