Trip Help Please ASAP

haven%26#39;t stayed at either; however, el tropicano has been totally rennovated in the past year. it is quite beautiful on the inside, and they even have a couple of toucans and a huge lizard for you to look at in their ';aviary';. if you stay there, then ask for a newly remodelled room as i%26#39;m not sure if all are done yet. from the looks of changes there, i would totally recommend this hotel. it%26#39;s on the north quiet end of the riverwalk, and there%26#39;s a river taxi that can take you to the downtown area of the riverwalk where the bars/restaurants are....or you could walk a few blocks and get there too. to me this would be a very good choice.

I have read alot of bad reviews on the El TRopicano..mice in the room, off the beaten path... Is it off the beaten path like Homewood Suites that%26#39;s not bad... I am deathly scared of mice... so that kinda got me..

maybe that%26#39;s why they got the lizard! ha! to get rid of the mice!

i hope that%26#39;s an isolated incident, and it may have been during a time of construction at the hotel that stirred the little rodent up...who knows?...

off the beaten path? - well, it%26#39;s approx. 8 blocks north of the main section of the riverwalk. there%26#39;s big office buildings, churches %26amp; parking lots between the hotel and the main part of the riverwalk. there%26#39;s a war memorial in front of the at%26amp;t building, which is a nice stop in front of the beautiful Municipal Auditorium, where they have concerts, conventions %26amp; all sorts of other events. from el tropicano you can also take the river taxi or walk around the riverwalk to the main part of the riverwalk (see a map if i%26#39;m confusing you)....it%26#39;s quite a hike (say 16 blocks as it ';bellies'; around to the west and back south %26amp; east....) ....it%26#39;s a very beautiful path with rock work %26amp; vegetation....good chances of seeing ducks and cranes and who knows what.....it%26#39;s patrolled constantly (at least during the day) by park police in boats. i always feel safe down there during the day, but i%26#39;ve never been on this stretch at night....so i can%26#39;t say anything about that except use common sense....take the river taxi back to your hotel to be totally safe. let me know if you have any more questions. by the way, i%26#39;m not that familiar with the other hotel/suites....could be just fine too...
