dallas/ austin trip report november

hey everyone. just wanted to post a quick report regarding our long weekend in texas. thanks to everyone on this forum for your assitance in planning our trip. we flew into dallas on friday nov 17. we immediately rented a car and drove to austin for one night. we stayed at the omni hotel and enjoyed a scenic horse carriage ride thru the city. we enjoyed a quick comedy show at the velveeta room for a cheap $5! we loved the city of austin and all the nightlife. we took a quick jog through the streets in the morning and then drove back to dallas. we checked into the za za hotel saturday afternon. we were immediately impressed with the unique, modern, botique style rooms. we loved the decor, music, and overall ambiance. we enjoyed some massages in the spa and had dinner that night across the street. we were told aerosmith was also at hotel za za that night and we went to the bar (dragonfly) to get a glimpse of them. apparently steven tyler was having dinner, so we enjoyed the hoppin bar scene and went to bed. sunday morning we worked out at the amazing za za gym (they have tvs on the treadmills!!) and then went to the spa for a teeth whitening treatment. we walked to a nearby restaurant called breadwinners and enjoyed a typical texan style local breakfast. we then took a cab to the cowboys / colts game and had a wonderful time. there was a long wait for a cab back to the hotel after the game... i think 45 mins. next, back to za za for a wonderful dinner served via room service! we left dallas monday am! what a wonderful trip. recommend hotel za za to anyone looking for a moderate to higher priced amazing hotel!! free trolley outside available for nearby transport. plenty of restaurants and bars to walk to if the weather is nice. the staff was wonderful and extremely helpful. loved dallas so much.
