La Copa, Super 8 or other suggestions?

My friends and I take a trip to Florida every year in the Spring but want to try somewhere new next year and are considering SPI. r trip will be Thurs April 26 - Mon April 30, 2007.

We don%26#39;t want to be around spring breakers but are single women in our late 20s/early 30s and don%26#39;t want to go somewhere that%26#39;s totally dead. We are traveling on a budget but want to stay at a place that%26#39;s clean and close to the action.

Any thoughts on La Copa or the Super 8? Both seem to have pretty good TA reviews. Any other suggestions?

Also, what is the weather like at the end of April?

La Copa is the one on the beach and close to everything. Super 8 is on the main street but quite far north. Weather will generally be warm that time of year. You may run into some stragglers, but the biggest spring break crowds will be gone.

Hmm, not sure what happened to the Ou in Our up there.

Anyway, thanks for the input. We definitely want to be closer to everything. Is La Copa a pretty decent place? We%26#39;re not looking for 5 star - just a place that%26#39;s not a total dump.

Does anyone have any suggestions other than La Copa in that area?

Also, prices are about the same for flights into Harlingen and Brownsville airports but Brownsville looks a little closer. Any thoughts on this? How much is a cab from these airports to SPI?

I always fly into Harlingen b/c that is where Southwest flies into. Brownsville is a little closer, but not by much. I would suggest you look into renting a car to get to the airport and back, and for tooling around on the island. There is a shuttle bus that goes up and down the island, and it is free, but it doesn%26#39;t run all night, and invariably, won%26#39;t be where you are when you need it.

The LaCopa gets pretty consistent good reviews and you shouldn%26#39;t be disappointed. The location is good.
