NYE hot spot in San Antonio
Without knowing your budget and music taste,I will suggest getting a copy of the Current or the weekender in the local Friday paper....I believe it is available online..If not, a good bookstore or Library will have the paper...Also,where are you staying as you will not want to be driving..........
NYE hot spot in San Antonio
I%26#39;m not exactly sure what hotel were staying in yet, we%26#39;ve been looking for somewhere on the Riverwalk. Do you have any suggestions for a nice, but affordable hotel? Also for NYE, we want a fun, lively place...were all in the 24-25 age range, so def. somewhere that age goup attends. Also, we love to dance! Thanks for your help.
The Hyatt is my fave for location, value and quality...There are numerous bars and clubs in that area....If you want to try a new Hotel,I like the Valencia......Book soon though!!!
San Antonio isn%26#39;t as wild a city as others but all of downtown is pretty much alive.
You can catch the countdown at the Hemisphere, that%26#39;s pretty fun.
My friends and I have gone to Pollyester%26#39;s on the Riverwalk the last few years and it has been a blast (all of us are 25-30). There are three floors of dancing and they usually have a money drop at midnight. You might want to check out the website www.pollyestherssa.com. I know that it usually costs around $20-$30 on NYE but if you buy your tickets early you get a discount. You might also try Howl at the Moon a fun piano bar, which is located on the Riverwalk. I would call them early though as it will be at capacity.
You might also try these bars on the other nights you are here all of which are downtown: Swig, Medusa Lounge, Pat O%26#39;Briens, V-Bar, Suede Lounge, Zen Bar and the Davenport.
We will also be going to the Alamo Bowl and Saturday night will probably be just as fun as NYE. If you have any other questions on where to go outside of downtown during the day let me know.
As far as hotels go you may want to check the Marriott Residence Inn on Bonham street. While it is not on the riverwalk it is only a short walk and they do have small kitchens to ';Pre-Party'; which will save you money on drinks. If not there try the Sheraton Gunter or the Emily Morgan hotel. They are older but relatively nice and only a couple of blocks from the Riverwalk.
Thank you sooo much for your help! It%26#39;s going to be nice to have some ideas of where to go when we get down there. If you have some suggestions for things to do during the day that would be great! Also is there spots by the stadium to tailgate? Thanks again for your help!
There are plenty of things to do during the day downtown (you won%26#39;t need a car). Here are some suggestions:
The Alamo, Buckhorn Saloon, Market Square, Tower of the Americas (observation deck is only around $8 the restaurant is expensive), Aztec Theater.
If you are driving down here are some things to do:
Sea World will be open but you need to check the dates around a 25 minute drive. The San Antonio Zoo will be also be open and is a 5-10 minute drive from downtown.
There are also some museums such as the Witte, McNay, and San Antonio Museum of Art.
If you want to shop go to the Shops at La Cantera a high end outdoor mall with Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Burberry, LaCoste etc.
Some restaurants you should try would be:
Rudy%26#39;s BBQ, Chester%26#39;s Hamburgers, Alamo Cafe, Sea Island and Bravo Cucina. I know you will not find any of these outside of Texas with the exception of Bravo%26#39;s.
Bars outside downtown that you can try are Dolce, Sherlock%26#39;s, Stone Werks, and the Point.
Lastly there is tailgating however I believe all those parking spots are sold out however there are several events taking place directly outside the Alamodome before the game. You can check out Alamobowl.com for all the schedules.
