Well, play the lotto here when you visit. I hope you and I both win - you so you can stay in Maui, and me so I can come visit frequently!

I%26#39;m really sorry that no one else replied to your post. We have a whole lot of knowledgeable people who would have had much better advice than me, but I guess maybe they were busy over Thanksgiving weekend. I wish I knew more to tell you.

I can%26#39;t remember if I mentioned Dripping Springs and Bastrop. There%26#39;s a town called Georgetown also, that I think I didn%26#39;t mention because it didn%26#39;t sound like your style - many more people.

Another thought for retirement that I didn%26#39;t mention before is San Antonio. I know you%26#39;re looking for a smaller area, which is why I didn%26#39;t mention it. But there are outlying areas such as Kerrville, New Braunfels, Seguin, et al that are ';small'; but can very easily access San Antonio. Whenever my husband and I discuss retirement, one of our big considerations is proximity to a large medical center. I didn%26#39;t want to be rude and ';presume'; that you%26#39;d have the same considerations. San Antonio has a teaching hospital and a large surroundng medical center. Plus it was (when I lived there ten years ago) a place where lots of military folks retired.

I%26#39;d go to Marble Falls and stay in the Marriott there, using it as ';home base'; while you drive around the surrounding areas.

Glad you got my reply. I hope it all works out for you!
