Wedding Night in Dallas

Hey, my partner and I are getting married in the Dallas area in February, We plan to spend our wedding night in Dallas (or surrounding area) before travelling to Chicago the day after. We are trying to find a romantic-ish hotel in the area, but we have a budget of $130 a night (for both of us). We arent looking for anything too fancy but dont want to be spending the night in a motel either!! If anyone has any suggestions that would be very much appreciated!

Thanks :o)

Wedding Night in Dallas

I was going to suggest the Belmont Hotel, but looks like the rates start at $170 or so. It isn%26#39;t romantic is the traditional sense; but more modern. You could sign up for their best rate plan and see if anything comes up.

Definately the most romantic hotel is the St. Germain on Maple, but I%26#39;m sure the rates are sky-high.

Since you%26#39;re from the UK, have you taken into account the exchange rate? Because you may be able to stretch your dollars.

Also...plug your date/s into hotwire.com and see what comes up - you may find a great deal there. Although...you only get to pick the area and quality of hotel; not the specific hotel. I did it for Chicago and was quite pleased as to what I received for $94/night.

I agree about the Belmont- call them directly (I got a better rate than is quoted online.)

I hope I%26#39;m not too late to respond. Travelocity.com had the best rate for the Belmont. I got a room for one night for $150 and that was the view of the Dallas skyline. No, it%26#39;s not the traditional romantic hotel but it was a great hotel to spend the night and celebrate our anniversary so I would recommend it for a honeymoon as well. Cozy bar, good service, etc. There are also cheaper rooms available without the city view.

The Belmont would be a great choice, but you can also find good deals at the Magnolia, which is also pretty exquisite. I just checked the webrate for February 16 and got a queen for $139.00. I went and toured the Magnolia last year and was very impressed. Note that they have smoking floors, so if you don%26#39;t smoke, ask for a non-smoking floor.

The Hotel Lawrence is also a nice choice. It is at the edge of downtown on Houston Street across from the Amtrak/Regency. You could walk through the train station and go up to the Dome Lounge at the Regency for drinks which would be a romantic wedding night memory. The Dome Lounge revolves one entire rotation every hour and you have this fabulous view of the Dallas area.

…hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index.jsp the tower with the big ball on top is where the Dome Lounge is located. Note that the Antares restaurant on the upper level of the ball does not get rave reviews, so don%26#39;t eat there. Drinks are fine, but not outstanding. Pricey because of the view--about $7.50 per drink.
