Wanting quite and adventure in one weekend

Hello from Colorado!

My husband and I are flying into Corpus Christi on Thursday, Feb. 1st and flying back out Monday the 5th. We are looking forward to our first weekend without the kids in awhile. We wish to do and see a few things and also just relax in some quite and peace.

We’ve looked into staying at Knolle Farm and Ranch Bed and Breakfast in Sandia, TX but would also like to see the USS Lexington and driving down North Padre Island. We might also wish to do other things around the Corpus Christi area. Is staying in Sandia and driving into Corpus Christi a few times realistic in terms of traffic and distance? Any other bed and breakfasts or such closer that still might offer that slow down effect?

We are also looking into some other things to do which might include: 9 holes of golf at a beginner friendly course, a place to rent and use a canoe or kayak, although we%26#39;ve never done either, skeet shooting, perhaps horseback riding or just spending some quite time outdoors.

We’ve never tried snorkeling either. Is this something we can do in Feb around Corpus Christi?

Ideas, suggestions and thoughts are greatly appreciated!

The drive from Sandia will take about 45 minutes. I don%26#39;t think traffic will be an issue.

There is a great B%26amp;B in Corpus called The George Blucher House. Although we haven%26#39;t stayed yet, we%26#39;re planning to stay in March for our anniversary. It gets great reviews, and I haven%26#39;t heard one negative thing about it. However, it doesn%26#39;t have the wide open spaces of the Knolle Ranch.

There is horseback riding on the island:

There are places that rent kayaks in Port Aransas. Those types of things are sometimes available on the Bayfront in downtown Corpus, but I think that%26#39;s just in the summer.

Thanks for the info. I love the pictures you%26#39;ve taken of CC. Can%26#39;t wait to see it.

Another great B%26amp;B secret in the CC Area
