We were just talking about steakhouses:

I love the shrimp platter at Bob%26#39;s - has shrimp cocktail, shrimp remoulade and fried shrimp...yum...it%26#39;s on Lemmon Ave at Wycliff - best to take a cab from wherever you stay.

Weather could be anything from 50-80 degrees; might check before you pack your things.

Springhill Suites in the West End gets good marks from our own poodleone, who will hopefully answer your hotel question. The Crescent Court is in an easy to walk area (Uptown) and is located on the trolley line which runs up and down McKinney Ave from the West Village to the Dallas Museum of Art. The trolley doesn%26#39;t actually run in the West End; the DART train does though.

Lower priced hotels: Hotel Lawrence (great location), Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, Bradford Suites

Sometimes great deals: Hotel Magnolia, check their website

Expensive: The Adolphus (deals can be had), the W, Crescent Court

Nobody ever mentions the Adam%26#39;s Mark and the Le Meridian, but they%26#39;re in a great location (particularly the Le Meridian because of the ice skating rink, shops, etc., but they%26#39;re in a great location, rooms are nice, and there are lots of lunch choices in the area.

Steak--the only steakhouse in the West End is the Palm, and I find it not so interesting. I don%26#39;t like Landry%26#39;s (is this still in the West End? I don%26#39;t remember), but lots of folks do.

Definitely take a cab to Bob%26#39;s. Great steaks, noisy, no smoking in Dallas restaurants.
