Moving to Houston, need good schools near medical center

We%26#39;re relocating to Houston in June 2007. We%26#39;re looking for an area with good public schools and a short commute to the medical center. We%26#39;ve heard of West U., but are there other options? We have a kindergartener and a preschooler. Any suggestions about communtiies, specific developments, elementary schools, or preschools would be very helpful! Thanks!

A lot of people who live in the med center choose to live in Pearland. Traffic can be a bit rough during rush hour - it is really getting to be a popular area. Pearland has good schools and is in close proximity to the med center.

The schools in Bellaire are great. I know that The Heights have great elementary schools, but I am not sure about their secondary schools.
