Walking

Best place to stay with two kids 9,12 years as we do not have a car for two of our five days in Dallas.Would like to walk to shopping malls! Swim in an hotelpool! Walk to restaurangs etc.

Places to visit with the car Stockyard, outletmall where? othe good idears

Walking

What time of year are you coming to Dallas? Most pools are outdoor.

The Westin at the Galleria Mall would be a good fit - attached to the mall, good restaurants.

I%26#39;ve been disappointed in most outlet malls. I find better prices on sale racks in the mall - depending on the time of year, Sak%26#39;s, Nordstrom, etc have excellent sales.

Pepper, we%26#39;re so alike. I find outlet malls totally useless in terms of true bargains. Mostly stuff made especially for the lower priced stores.

But this family might really enjoy the Grapevine Mills Outlet Mall. It%26#39;s really fun for kids, does have some bargains, and it%26#39;s like a real mall with lots and lots of stuff.

Most of the outlet malls are a good distance from Dallas, are strip malls with some not interesting choices unless you really need stuff like Mikasa. So I%26#39;d vote for Grapevine Mills and I know your kids would.

Walking to restaurants? We%26#39;re talking about Dallas?

Just kidding, but there isn%26#39;t much of that around.

I don%26#39;t know if the Bradford Suites at Lincoln Center has a pool, but that%26#39;s walkable to NorthPark (just across the street) and the Cheesecake Factory and Blue Mesa Grill are right across the parking lot. So that would be a good location without a car, with kids in tow. The new AMC section has just opened up, there are lots of good food choices ranging from the BMG and the CCF, to Le Madeline%26#39;s--Maggiiano%26#39;, PF Chang%26#39;s, Nordstroms restaurant.

Thanks for answers!

We will come early November and hope that outdoor pools are open.

Where do we book for good prices for the hotels?

Hotwire.com is good.

You don%26#39;t know the name or exact location of the hotel, but they will list the amenities, such as a pool. You choose an area and price/night and rating of hotel - I would only go for a 4 star.
