Relocating to Waco

My husband is excepting a job transfer to Waco. Does anyone have suggestions for neighborhoods? No kids at home-just empty nesters. We will be in Waco today through Friday.

Relocating to Waco

Wow, I%26#39;m so sorry I didn%26#39;t see this post until now!

There are lots of nice neighborhoods to chose from. Newer ';sprawl'; type homes can be found out the 84 corridor; Villages at Twin Rivers has garden homes. Woodway has nice older homes with pretty lots. Lake Air area also has nice older homes and is in town (nice especially if you don%26#39;t have school districts to worry about) Depending on where your husband is working, and how much ';commute'; you mind, there are nice outlying areas (China Spring). There is essentially no rush hour traffic here, so commute is measured by miles, not minutes.

Good luck, and welcome to Waco!

Relocating to Waco

Waco really is great... the housing prices are alot less than most places in the country. We live in Hewitt and enjoy it alot. Hewitt is south of Waco off of I-35 or can also be reach off of 84. Like the former poster said 84 out of Waco toward McGregor is all growing. Some older areas off 84 would be Woodway. If you could give a price range we could help you better. If you like small towns you can live in Crawford (next to George). I would wouldn鈥檛 go as far out as McGregor. Some of the housing in the City can be nice and less expensive if you don鈥檛 have kids. Austin Ave would fall into this group. We have bought two homes here in Waco over the past 18 years. Both times we worked with a lady named Vinita McNeal. She worked her butt off for us and was great (no she is not my mom!) lol, just really can%26#39;t say enough good about her. Hope this helps. I just stumbled onto this so if you have questions I can help with just email me at garagesalebutler@yahoo.com Hope this helps!

Well, garagesalebutler... having never heard anything further from 1dragnet, I clicked on the ';more about dragnet1'; link and read some of her recent posts.

Apparently she moved to ';outside LA'; instead. :-)
